The
Denver area is served by the Denver
International Airport. This fairly new airport is "way out in the northeast quarter" of
the Denver metropolitan area connected to the city by a special,
controlled access freeway, Peña Blvd. Peña Blvd is accessed via exits
284 or 285 of I-70. Access to Denver International Airport is also from
exit 28 of Hwy E-470.
Okay, so
it isn't official — but Aurora (exit 285) is the de facto gateway to
Denver's beautiful new airport, DIA. Even it you do not intend to use
it, it is really worth a little detour — especially in the Winter when
everything is covered with that white stuff.

If you are hauling
some bicycles and you're tired of sitting behind the wheel, you might
stop by the Cherry Creek State Recreation Area where you can peddle for miles
on beautiful bike trails. This is Colorado's busiest state park; there
is a reason!
Take exit 282 and follow I-225 to exit 4.
Note to folks enroute to Vail:
Vail is serviced by the Eagle/Vail/Avon (EGE)
airport. Several modes of transportation from the Eagle Airport to Vail are available
depending upon the season.For
